Symphony Nº3, "Altered Landscape," composed by Jimmy López Bellido, was inspired by the stunning photographic collection at the Nevada Museum of Art titled "Altered Landscape," and reflects humanity's impact on Earth from the end of WWII to a hopeful future.
The symphony's movements capture the relentless growth of human activity, the stillness and reflection during the COVID-19 pandemic, and a meditative reckoning with our past actions. The final movement, "Alignment," envisions a harmonious coexistence with our planet, filled with hope and the promise of human ingenuity.
This work is dedicated to Laura Jackson and the Reno Phil, whose unwavering support brought it to life, and aims to plant a seed of hope and beauty for future generations.
